Preschool Special Education Program

The Omni Center is approved by The New York State Department of Education and the Nassau County Department of Health to provide evaluations and services to children ages 3-5 years. 

Upon referral from the child’s local school district the following areas may be assessed based on parent concerns:

• Psychological (Cognitive)
• Neurological
• Speech-Language (Expressive and Receptive)
• Hearing
• Physical (Gross Motor Function)
• Occupational (Fine Motor Function)
• Educational
• Social/Emotional

Every evaluation assesses the motor, language, cognitive, adaptive and social-emotional development of the child.  Eligibility is based on specific criteria as set forth by the municipality.  If the child meets the criteria for services then individualized goals are designed to meet the needs of the child.

The Preschool Special Education Program is committed to serving children in the least restrictive environment.  Services can be provided home-based, center-based or at an outside daycare/preschool and are determined in a setting that best suits the child and families needs.
